General Summary:

MINIMUM 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF WELDING/FITTING

Responsible for journey level welding and fitting as assigned on pipe, plate, tanks, and structural steel at x-ray quality.

Essential Job Functions: Responsible for x-ray quality welds including but not limited to pipe, plate, tanks, and structural steel using all in the following welding operations:

SMAW - Shield Metal Arc Welding (Stick)
GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (Tig)
GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding (Mig)
FCAW - Flux Core Arc Welding (Duel Shield)
Responsible for fitting including but not limited to cutting, prepping, layout, and fitting of all types of pipe, fittings, equipment, and materials to meet Company procedures and cod requirements.

Responsible for reading and interpretation of complex blueprints, sketches, and specifications of piping, vessels, and custom components.

Responsible for completion of weld maps as needed.

Responsible for fabrication of threaded piping systems.

Responsible for all testing of equipment and piping systems including but not limited to steam, hydro, and pneumatic testing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitie: Proficiency in all welding operations as outlined above. Must be able to pass the following weld tests with x-ray quality:

Stainless steel pipe test, 2 in. schedule 80, Tig, GTAW root, SMAW fill and cover in 6G position.
Carbon steel pipe test, SMAW root 6010, SMAW fill and cover 7018 in 6G position.
Carbon steel plate test, GMAW and FCAW, flat position, GMAW open root, FCAW fill and cover in 1G position.
Must have working knowledge of ASME code procedures for material handling and fabrication.

Proficiency in fitting including complex layout, blueprint and sketch reading, and the fitting of metal parts.

Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting complex blueprints and specifications including complex piping drawings.

Proficiency in fabricating from complex drawings independently.

Must be able to work with close tolerances to meet operating requirements.
